Dear Friends of Rippon Middle School, My name is Gail Stone, and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your new principal. As the mother of two daughters and a former elementary school and high school principal, I understand and appreciate the value of a good education. The middle school years provide a student with challenging and exciting learning opportunities. The Rippon Middle School faculty and staff are committed to providing a rigorous academic program, enriching extracurricular activities, and most importantly, setting high expectations for all.
The faculty and staff of Rippon Middle School promote a safe, positive learning environment, which I believe is the foundation for a good education. Students must feel good about their learning environment. In order to ensure a constructive learning atmosphere, we recognize there must be a collaborative work effort with our parents and community members. We encourage positive interaction between our parents, community members, and school personnel. When we work in harmony and with open communication, we are able to implement new initiatives, reduce the challenging incidents, and quickly address the everyday student issues.
An effective school supports and elicits student involvement. The teachers and staff members of Rippon Middle School have established an effective school environment where we urge our students to get involved. There are many extracurricular activities offered to meet the diverse needs of our student population. We encourage parents to talk with their child about choosing an activity that may be new or interesting. Studies show when students are actively involved in their school’s extracurricular activities, they perform better academically and have good attendance records.
I support an open door policy and try to make myself available as much as possible.
